There are a vast array of bonuses that are commonplace in compensation plans, such as the Fast Start Bonus, Infinity Bonus, Car Bonus and Generational Bonus. Many companies also offer bonuses that are unique to their compensation plan. Sometimes these are one of the more commonly seen bonuses with a custom branded name and other times they are new inventions altogether.

Any method of delivering money to the field can be termed a "bonus" within a multilevel compensation plan. Any company can devise a bonus that suits its particular needs and compensates the field well, but which is not seen in the same format in any other compensation plan.

From a company ownership perspective, it is important that the compensation plan be designed in such a fashion that it does not pay out more in benefits than the company is receiving in sales. This is equally important from the distributor perspective - distributors want to be associated with companies that are built to stay in business and pay commissions over the long term!

When designing the bonuses present in your compensation plan, make sure that they serve the field and corporate offices alike.
